TIGERS RALLY; EARN SPLIT vs LIONS

A cracking comeback in Game Two saw the Lakeland Tigers rebound from an 18-point loss, earning a double-header split with the hard-charging Florida Lions in Saturday’s MLF Week Two action.

After jumping out to a 15-point lead, the Tiger defense showed strains in containing a free-wheeling Lions side that featured rookie Michael Taylor at full forward.

With Taylor earning his bones in collecting crumbs from constant Florida pressure, the Lions rallied for a 23-point advantage in the second frame, earning a 54-36 win.

Those results were nearly reversed in Game Two, however, as the Tigers put it all together, with running out by twenty for a 52-32 decision.

The result sees both sides pick up a crucial four points on the 2018-19 ladder, with the Tigers moving into the second slot with an ever-so-slim 2 point advantage over Florida in early days.

By virtue of their Week One sweep of Starfish FC, the St. Petersburg Swans remain alone at the top of the table at 2-0, 8 pts.

Major League Footy Week Three will see the Tampa Bay Bombers and Orlando Kangas square off Saturday, November 10 at 11 AM.
