SWANS v BOMBERS KICKS OFF THANKSGIVING WEEK

Football and Thanksgiving are a quintessentially American match-up, with the NFL taking center stage as families across the country celebrate the holiday next Thursday.

The St. Pete Swans hope not to be on the Tampa Bay Bombers menu when the sides clash this Saturday in a matinee twin-bill in St. Petersburg.

With the Bombers (1-1, 4 pts) having battled off the mat to earn a crucial early-season split with the Kangas last weekend, the Swans (2-0, 8 points) will be looking to pull out the stops to remain undefeated and atop the 2018-19 Major League Footy Premiership Season ladder.

They’ll have to do that on the season’s first ‘chilly’ (by Florida standards, anyway), weather. Game-time ‘feels like temperatures are expected to be near 50 degrees F. That’s roughly 57 degrees colder than conditions for the September 29 Summer Final.

The final match before the Thanksgiving Bye Week (November 24 – no games scheduled) could see the Bombers leap into the top spot with a win…or see the Swans move away from the pack of a crowded ladder.
