SUNCOAST LOOKS TO TAME TIGERS
Fresh off a razor-close split with the Florida Lions last weekend, the Suncoast Suns (1-1, 4 pts) head into Week Six of the Major League Footy 2018-19 Premiership Season with a chance to make a ladder move before the Holiday break.
To do that, they’ll have to tame a Lakeland Tigers (1-1, 4 pts) squad that’s currently clinging to the #4 seed by the slimmest of margins.
With just a 17-point advantage over the Suns in point differential, the Tigers come into the weekend’s action with just the sixth best scoring offense (88 points in two games) in the Winter Circuit.
Suncoast is a shade better (92 points), but saw last weekend’s Game One win unable to keep the Suns in a positive point differential.
The Lions’ big Game Two win last Saturday – which also pulled the Leos into the #2 spot on the table – left the Suns at (-15) in PD, third worst in the competition through five weeks.
Should either side sweep this weekend’s proceedings, they’ll see themselves displace the Lions in settling into the two-spot as the circuit’s month-long Holiday break looms.
