PASCOFCFueled by standout efforts from Tim Kleman, Dustin Jones, Kyle Roun and Mark Earley, the Pasco BlackDog stood tall and chipped away at a big early deficit – and emerged with a 14.7.91 – 12.8.80 win over the St. Petersburg Swans in Major League Footy Florida Winter League action, Saturday in St. Pete.

Down 5.1.31 – 2.3.15 after the first stanza, Pasco strung together a flurry of majors before the big break, which came with the ‘Dog trailing by just four.

Despite injuries to Matt Elliott and Joe Caravella, Pasco managed to claw their way ahead, helped in large part by the speed of Earley, with Jones and Kleman opening a relentless cascade of offensive opportunities.

The Swans, who saw huge contributions from Aaron Crittenden, Brad Freeman and Jake Keglor go for naught on the day, saw accuracy on goal an issue.

The difference-making kicks in the second half tallied the Red and White with 5 majors and 5 behinds, including two errant opportunities late the could have easily turned the tide in their favor with just under a minute left.

With the win, Pasco (1-2) jumped past Orlando on the winter league ladder. St. Petersburg saw their mark drop to even.

The Swans’ Winter Champsionship hopes now rest on the result of their winter season-ending tilt next Saturday versus Florida.

A Swans win in that one will put them in 2nd and into the February 25 Championship Final versus Suncoast.
A Bloods loss will give the berth to StarfishFC.

Tim Kleman (BlackDog) and Aaron Crittenden (Swans) were awarded Best on Ground in today’s match.
