JOLTIN’ JOE: CARAVELLA SPARKS ‘FISH ROUT, 98-26
Club newcomer and 2017 rookie Joe Caravella booted his first two majors to spark StarfishFC to a runaway victory in St. Petersburg, 16.2.98 – 4.2.26.
With the sides knotted at the first break, it seemed that the affair – played in cloudless skies but oppressive late-Spring heat – would see Greg Bray off to a summer in Victoria with a nail-biter – but Caravella and the ‘Fish had other plans.
The second half was all Starfish, as the side ran up a 55-1 tally over the 3rd and 4th quarters.
The loss drops the Red & White to 1-4 on the season in Major League Footy play with a USAFL double-header in Nashville next week, as the club meets the Kangaroos and Atlanta Kookaburras.
The St. Petersburg Swans return to practice Thursday at 6 pm – on the Common at Crescent Lake in St. Pete.
