MAJOR LEAGUE FOOTY ADDS TWO NEW WINTER SIDES
Major League Footy – The Florida Winter League of Australian Football – has announced the first two new development sides to join the competition for the 2017-’18 Florida Winter Season.
The Memphis Tuskers will represent the Sarasota/Manatee region of Greater Tampa Bay, and will play at east one 2018 Winter League match in Manatee County; while the San Antonio Stampeders will join Pasco BlackDog FC in representing Pasco County and the northern reaches of the Tampa Bay metro.
The Tuskers and Stamps are the first two of several developmental sides to be added to the competition, as Major League Footy looks to expand its footprint from the Tampa Bay and Central Florida region, and both will begin actively recruiting players from their respective areas.
Players from the Tampa Bay ARFC player list will also be drafted and/or assigned to the regional metro rules side during the 2017 Winter Footy Draft.
Major League Footy is also currently recruiting admin, coaches and players from markets in Florida and elsewhere for the 2017-’18 Winter campaign.
The 2017 Winter Footy Draft will take place Friday, November 3, 2017, and will follow an innovative and successful draft process unveiled by Major League Footy for the 2016-’17 Florida Winter League season.
The full 2017-’18 Major League Footy Florida Winter League schedule – featuring 10 Saturday matches November 2017 thru February 2018 – will be unveiled Friday, June 9, 2017.
