LIONS-TIGERS SET FOR WEEK 2 TILT

Week Two of the MLF 2018-19 Winter Premiership Season sees the Florida Lions tangle with the Lakeland Tigers in a matinee double-header, Saturday, November 3rd.
The Florida Lions will host the Lakeland Tigers in a matinee double-header Saturday, November 3, as the 2018-19 Major League Footy Premiership Season heads into Week Two.
With both sides entering the contest with a chance to catch the St. Petersburg Swans at the top of the ladder, the pressure is already on the circuit’s two newest sides.
Launching during the 2018 summer season with a boost from the Palm Beach Currumbin Lions, Florida marched to a 4-4 (16 pts) record in the inaugural campaign, largely fueled by standout efforts from Queeslanders Nick Whiteside and Ben McIntosh.
The Lakeland Tigers (2-5, 8 pts) fielded a competitive side under skipper Pat Bilder, only seeing a downturn in their fortunes late in the circuit’s summer competition.
Those slates are now wiped clean as the Lions and Tigers enter 2018-19 winter season, both sides having hope remaining competitive straight through to April.
Major League Footy is the independent competition of 7-a-side Australian Football in the United States. Games are played on a rectangular field, typically 120 yards x 60 yards, and with traditional Australian Rules goal and behind posts.
