The Clearwater Kangas notched their first win on the 2017 Major League Footy season Saturday, toppling Pasco 4.0.24-3.0.18

A brave late challenge by the Pasco BlackDog (0-1) fell just shy, as Clearwater (1-0) hung on to win by a goal, Saturday in St. Petersburg.

Newcomer David Senko – appearing in his first Major League Footy scrimmage action – pressed hard to goal with time expiring before losing control of the footy, effectively icing the proceedings for Clearwater.

The match saw the scrimmage return of standout Jordan Calero.

Calero, out since late Winter after an auto accident, had been expected to miss the remainder of the 2017 season, but looked sharp from the get-go.

Major League Footy action continues next Saturday, with the St. Petersburg Swans (3-4) hosting StarfishFC (1-0) in an 11 AM start on the Common at Crescent Lake.
