WINTER FOOTY: HOLIDAY ROUND-UP

CLWTRAS WINTER FOOTY HEATS UP, KANGAS LOOK TO CHARGE

As the calendar flips to 2017, Florida winter footy action is poised to heat up. Coming out of the holiday break, the Major League Footy ladder finds the red-hot Suncoast Suns perched atop the standings, by virtue of wins in the final two rounds of December – a close call over the Pasco Black Dog, and then a blowout of Starfish FC.

Dionne Jones and the Clearwater side will have an opportunity to influence those standings in a big way, however, first with a January 14 match with Starfish FC, followed by a huge tilt with the Suns a week later. Win both of those, and suddenly the Kangas could emerge as the team to beat as the winter rolls on. Meanwhile, a Suns win on January 21 could very well give Ken Scheidt and his charges an iron grip on the top spot.

Here are match reports for the first three rounds of the Inaugural season of Major League Footy winter league action:

11/19: SWANS TRIP ORLANDO, RUN OUT WINNERS IN WINTER OPENER
12/3 : SUNS RALLY PAST BLACK DOG
12/10: SUNS SMASH STARFISH, MOVE TO FIRST
