HIGH-FLYING BOMBERS SEEK WEEK NINE SWEEP

Tampa Bay v Clearwater

The Tampa Bay Bombers (1-0) look to continue their hot start vs Clearwater (0-2) in MLF Week 9, Saturday in St. Pete

The fast-starting Tampa Bay Bombers (1-0) look to continue their debutant run Saturday, in a rematch with the cellar-dwelling Clearwater Kangas (0-2) in St. Petersburg.

Ball-Up is 4 PM.

In a resounding debut that saw the new Bombers side easily brush aside a brave Clearwater group, Tampa Bay powered their way to a 53-point margin that was never in doubt.

A Bombers sweep of this weekend’s double-header would move them firmly into the second position on the 2018 Major League Footy Premiership Season ladder, while the Kangas are looking to break their duck with a positive outcome in either match.

The 4 PM affair will be played under an ‘AFLX game clock’, with each match being timed as two 10-minute halves. The time clock format was debuted in the AFL’s pre-season AFLX tournaments, and is suited to summer conditions in the Sunshine State.

In last Saturday’s debut of the ‘double-header’ format, conditions in a midday ball-up neared 100 degrees with searing humidity, making even the shorter game time a test of fitness in extreme Florida springtime weather.
