#FOOTYNIGHTINFLORIDA SIZZLES AS EAST COAST SHIVERS
With the first ‘polar vortex’ of the season dropping temperatures to well below zero across the Eastern USA, the St. Petersburg Swans will host the upstart Tampa Bay Bombers in Major League Footy action returns with a Twilight Series Double-Header, Saturday, January 19.
Ball-up for Game One at Largo Sports Complex Stadium is 7 PM, with the starlit-Florida evening expected to be clear, with temps in the low 70s (F).
St. Pete enters the contest atop the ladder with a record of 5-1, while the Bombers come in at 2-4.
In a scheduling quirk, the two sides met last weekend in a reschedule of a December clash, with the Swans battling back in Game Two to salvage a split in the twinbill.
That result enabled the Bloods to stay well clear of the pack with 20 points in advance of this week’s rematch at the site of one of the sides’ most memorable clashes.
During the 2018 MLF Summer Season, the Bombers rallied to post two majors in the final minute of a July 14 affair, on their way to a 2-point win.
Major League Footy will celebrate Australia Day 2019 with a matinee double-header as the Florida Lions tangle with St. Petersburg Starfish FC, Saturday, January 26 at 11 AM in St. Pete, Florida.
