FINALS CRASHOUT DOESN’T DIM TIGES WINTER
April 13 Tigers v Lions

Despite a record-setting crash-out in the MLF Preliminary Final, the 2018-19 campaign saw many positives for the Lakeland Tigers.

As the side’s roster coalesced into a unit around American footy veteran Patrick Bilder on way to a late-season run up the ladder to the #2 seed, the Tigers established an expanded footy presence in Central Florida.

Posting a 7-3 record (28 points), the Tigers concluded the winter Premiership with a solid run, unfortunately punctuated with a shock loss to a surging Florida Lions side in Saturday’s Preliminary.

After conceding a league record 99 points in the first half, the Tigers regrouped to make the second half a much close contest, just too little and too late to turn the tide.

As Florida footy moves into the 2019 MLF Florida Derby season, the Tigers will look to continue growing the Central Florida side, with a strong likelihood of playing for a return to the playoff finals in 2019-20.
