CAN “B-MAC” TOUCH CENTURY?

On pace for a 100-goal season, Queensland gun Ben McIntosh returns to action this weekend, when the Tampa Bay Bombers visit StarfishFC in St. Petersburg.

Although his scoring pace has slowed over his last three appearances, McIntosh has virtually wrapped up the race for the 2018 scoring leadership – by a wide margin.

With 43 goals on the campaign, McIntosh has an incredible 30-major lead on the closest challenger – Miami’s Neil Cohen.

And, with a full slate of matches on the horizon during the run home, McIntosh figures to eclipse the 100-goal mark.

Doing so would put him alone in the MLF ledger, as only Jake Keglor has ever threatened the century mark.

Keglor’s impressive start in the 2017 season was curtailed by a series of injuries, coupled with a mid-season drought.

McIntosh has shown no signs of a slump, and is an easy tip to return to his rampaging pace when the Bombers visit StarfishFC in a special matinee twin-bill, Saturday in St. Petersburg.

The Bombers (2-2, 8 pts) are vying for a spot in the MLF Top 4, and could potentially run on for much more as the season heads into the run home.

A sweep over the ‘Fish would push Tampa Bay into position to make a serious challenge to the St. Petersburg Swans, whose season-long strangehold on the top spot is suddenly in peril.

The Bombers outlasted St. Pete July 14, slotting two majors inside the final 90 seconds to pull out a shock win.
