The Pittsburgh Blackbirds defeated St. Petersburg 18.11.119 – 11.7.73, Saturday, April 8 in St. Pete.

Making their debut as a metro rules Major League Footy side Saturday night, the debutant Pittsburgh Blackbirds pulled away from a razor-close contest with an dominating fourth period, running out 18.11.119 – 11.7.73 winners over St. Petersburg.

Fueled by a stand-out performance by Adham Makki, the ‘Birds blew the doors off in the final frame, tallying an 8.2.50-1.0.6 margin on their way to the win.

The Blackbirds, who are representing Pittsburgh in a limited Florida-based schedule in 2017, unveiled their 2017 jumper kit.

Inspired by the ‘rugby style’ jumpers worn by the Geelong Cats in the 2017 pre-season, the Blackbirds look quite #steelcity, as their Black and Gold combo is in step with Pittsburgh’s legendary sports sides.
