AFI FOOTY 9sFooty 9s is Australian Football for the gridiron, and this exciting variation of Australian Rules Football presents dynamic new opportunities as the grass-roots effort to grow our great sport in the States marches on.

As developed by Melbourne-based Australian Football International, Footy9s is a fast-paced, action-packed version of Aussie Rules, intended for play on a gridiron (American) football field.

The Footy 9s format meets the particular challenges of standardized footy game-play in the USA, with rules designed to keep the action moving, preserve the best of footy – and appeal to Americans’ sporting tastes!

9-ALIGNMENT

The game is fast and high-scoring, but with safeguards to be sure it’s not ‘out of hand’ scoring, or interminable stoppages in game play.

Footy 9s can be played on any American football field, and uses existing goalposts, field markings and scoreboard settings – no changes are needed to customize venues designed for American football into a footy ground – Footy 9s is designed for the gridiron!
